Mrs Upuli Perera has been selected to represent the University of Birmingham at the Chicago Forum on Global cities, 2016 – June 1-3. This is a forum hosted by the Chicago council of Global Affairs and the Financial Times, converging world leaders, CEOs, artists and scholars for a cross sector dialogue on global cities.
Upuli Perera (Senior Lecturer, Department of Estate Management and Valuation) is currently a Commonwealth Scholarship Commission scholar and a doctoral researcher at Centre for Urban and Regional Studies, University of Birmingham UK. The forum will be focusing on how global cities are driving new cycles – from financial crises, deteriorating infrastructure, urban climatic issues, food security, to increased urban violence and concerns about terrorist attacks at major international events.
