Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences
- Department of Languages, Cultural Studies & Performing Arts
Positions: Senior Lecturer, Grade I/ Grade II/ Lecturer (Probationary) in Creative Music Technology
Preference will be given to candidates with a Degree in Bachelor of Creative Industries with a Major in Creative Music Technology. Experience in related field of Music Technology/ Production also will be an additional qualification.
Positions: Senior Lecturer, Grade I/ Grade II/ Lecturer (Probationary) in Music and Video Technology
Preference will be given to candidates with a BA Special Degree with 1st or 2nd Upper in Cultural & Aesthetic Studies (Music), and also preferably postgraduate degree in a field related to Information Technology (Multimedia). Experience in related field of Music and Video Technology also will be an additional qualification.
- Department of Political Science
Positions: Senior Lecturer, Grade I/ Grade II/ Lecturer (Probationary)
Preference will be given to the candidates with a postgraduate qualification in Political Science.
Salary Scales:
- Senior Lecturer Grade I
Rs.91,310 – 7×2,170 – 106,500 p.m. U AC 3 (I) with effect from 01.01.2020
Rs.71,965/- – U-AC 3 (I) with effect from 01.07.2018
- Senior Lecturer Grade II
Rs.79,360 – 11×1,630 – 97,290 p.m. U-AC 3 (II) with effect from 01.01.2020
Rs.62,695/- – U-AC 3 (II) with effect from 01.07.2018
- Lecturer (Probationary)
Rs.54,600 – 10×1,335 – 67,950 p.m. U-AC 3 (IV) with effect from 01.01.2020
Rs.43,506/- – U-AC 3 (IV) with effect from 01.07.2018
The other allowances determined by the University Grants Commission will be paid in addition to the above salary. Accordingly,
- A) Senior Lecturer Grade I
Approximate Gross Salary Rs.202,825.15 with effect from 01.07.2018
(Further Research Allowance of 35% is entitled for ongoing research work)
- B) Senior Lecturer Grade II
Approximate Gross Salary Rs.177,703.45 with effect from 01.07.2018
(Further Research Allowance of 35% is entitled for ongoing research work)
- C) Lecturer (Probationary)
Approximate Gross Salary Rs.110,039.10 with effect from 01.07.2018
(Further Research Allowance of 35% is entitled for ongoing research work)
Benefits: (Senior Lecturer Grade I/ Senior Lecturer Grade II/ Lecturer (Probationary))
- Selected candidates will contribute 10% from their monthly salary to the Universities’ Provident Fund while the University will make a contribution of 15% of their salary of which 8% will be credited to Universities Pension Fund and 7% to the Universities Provident Fund. In addition they will become contributors to the Employees’ Trust Fund which the University will contribute an amount equivalent to 3% of the Salary.
- Gratuity payment in accordance with the provisions of the payment of Gratuity Act 12 of 1983.
- Senior Lecturer Grade II and above are eligible for one year of Sabbatical Leave with full pay or two years without pay on completion of seven years of service. Further those proceeding abroad during the Sabbatical Leave Period are eligible to receive full air passage for self and spouse.
