Students, Academic staff and Non-academic staff of the University of Sri Jayewardenapura celebrated Sinhala and Tamil New Year with a grand Awurudu Uthsawaya; “Kokila udanaya 2015” on 2nd of April 2015.
This Awurudu uthsawaya is the largest Awurudu Event of the University which; Academic staff, Students and Non-academic staff commonly participated. It was a celebration of Sinhala and Hindu New year by combining with all the faculties with traditional Awurudu games, entertaining events, traditional dances and much more kept the participants delightful. This event was collaboratively organized by Staff Welfare Society and Students Union (Maha Shishya Sangamaya); following the aspiration of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Smapath Amarathunga.
