Vidudaya Ritzbury Interschool Swimming Championship – 2018

Ritzbury, Sri Lanka’s number one chocolate brand manufactured by Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), has been significant in uplifting sports in Sri Lanka and is now taking a revolutionary step to sponsor swimming for the first time.  The Company will partner with the University of Sri Jayewardenepura which has the largest swimming pool in Sri Lanka, to make the first Ritzbury All-island Interschool Age Group Swimming Championship a reality.

This Championship will attract over 2500 swimmers from over 130 schools and will be held on 27^th and 28^th January at the Pool Complex of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.  There will be 96 individual events and 24 relay events with under 9, 11,13,15,17 and 19 year competitors vying for junior, senior and overall championship trophies.

Professor Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor of the University said “We are pleased and encouraged by the enthusiasm and support offered by Ritzbury as the leading brand of chocolate to make the interschool swimming championship a success. No doubt their commendable gesture will encourage more participants to focus on swimming to improve their health and fitness levels.”

Ritzbury, as a strong supporter of sports in Sri Lanka has been sponsoring the Sir John Tarbet School Athletic Championship, the Junior National Squash Championship, the Inter-International Schools Athletic Meet and the Mercantile Athletic Meet.

The Department of Physical Education & the Sports Council of University of Sri Jayewardenepura is organizing this Vidudaya Ritzbury Inter – School Swimming Championship 2018 together with its main sponsorship partner Ritzbury Chocolates and will be taken place on 27^th and 28^th January 2018 at the University Swimming Pool Complex from 08.00 am onwards.
