The Faculty of Dental Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura welcomed its new intake with an inauguration ceremony of the orientation program on January 06, 2025. The ceremony was held at the Board Room of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura; Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage, the Registrar of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura; Mr.A.B. Weliwita, the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences; Senior Professor Surangi G. Yasawardene; and Deans of other faculties, Heads of Departments, as well as the academic members of the faculty.
The event was designed to provide an introduction to the university and the faculty for new students. Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage, welcomed the new batch, emphasizing the importance of tradition, discipline, and the university’s proud history. Senior Prof. Surangi G. Yasawardene, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, addressed the students and their parents, highlighting the dental curriculum and the facilities offered by the faculty.
The ceremony celebrated the start of a transformative journey for the incoming batch, paving the way for their success in dentistry.
