The National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA), in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit and the Startup Club of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, launched the “Brain to Business” initiative with a three-day workshop series from September 6th to 8th, 2024. Supported by the Strengthening University – Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia (SECRA) project, the event aimed to foster entrepreneurial thinking among graduates.
Prof. Sudath M. Amarasena, Director of the Career Guidance Unit, opened the program, followed by Mr. Dhanuka Liyanagamage, Director of NEDA, who outlined the initiative’s objectives and the importance of entrepreneurship in today’s economic landscape.
Key presentations included insights from Prof. Hiran Amarasekera of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and a success story from Mr. Ravindu Jayawardena, Founder of RJ Group Holdings Pvt Ltd, who highlighted the impact of the 2023 Brain to Business initiative.
Resource personnel included Mr. Jayashantha Chandrasena from the Divisional Secretariat, Dehiowita, and Ms. Kanchana Priyadarshani from the Divisional Secretariat, Moratuwa. The workshop provided practical support and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs.
