The grand opening of the Sri Sumangala Auditorium aka Sri Sumangala Sabha Sadaya was held on 17th February 2022. The renovation of Sumangala reading hall as an auditorium was funded by the AHEAD project of the World Bank.
The event was graced by Mrs.K.D.R.Olga, the Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Mr.W.K.H.Wagapitiya, the president of Japura aluminai, Prof.Sudantha Liyanage, the vice chancellor of the university of Sri Jayewardenepura, Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and several other guests and academia.
