The University of Sri Jayewardenepura celebrated its 18th External Degree Convocation 2024 on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo 07.A total of 1936 graduates participated in the ceremony, receiving degrees across various disciplines.
The ceremony was graced by the Chancellor, Most Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Thero, who delivered a heartfelt message encouraging graduates to leverage their knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in their respective fields and society. The Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor M.M. Pathmalal, extended his warm congratulations and urged the graduates to uphold the university’s legacy as a beacon of academic excellence. The event was attended by the Registrar, Mr. A.B. Welivita, along with members of the academic staff, marking it as a momentous occasion for the university.
Degrees were conferred on students enrolled in programs offered through the External Degrees and Extension Courses Unit (EDECU), recognizing their academic achievements and commitment to higher education. The following degrees were awarded at the convocation:
