A two day field visit was conducted by the Department of Public Administration on 09th & 10th June 2015, under the course of Public Management to observe the progress of post rehabilitation process related to Koslanda – Meeriyabedda landslide which was occurred on 29 October 2014.
During the field visit , a discussion was held with the government officers of “Haldummulla” Divisional Secretariat and District Disaster Management. A socio-economic survey was conducted by the 3rd year students of the Department to gather data on the victims of the landslide who are still suffering and struggling to live in “Punagala” Camp. The Department donated Rs. 17500 worth of food items to the disaster affected 56 families in the camp. This study tour was organized by Prof. (Mrs.) R. Lalitha S. Fernando, Ms. M.S. Dimuthu Kumari , Mr. W.G. T. S. Senanayaka and Ms. Aruna Muthulingam.
