The Department of Business Administration at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, renowned as a trailblazer in the realm of management education within the Sri Lankan university system, stands as the foremost entity within the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. This department has embarked on a significant collaboration by formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Richard Pieris & Company PLC. The core objectives underpinning this MOU encompass the enhancement of synergies between academia and industry, the fostering of knowledge exchange, and the provision of invaluable industrial exposure to senior-year undergraduates enrolled within the Department.
The ceremonial signing of the MOU took place on the 15th of August 2023, hosted within the university’s premises. This momentous event garnered the esteemed presence of Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and Mr. Nalin Ranasinghe, General Manager – Group/Head of HR at Richard Pieris & Company PLC, both of whom graced the occasion as chief dignitaries. Through this collaborative endeavour, academia and industry converge to pave the way for enriched educational experiences and practical insights, further enriching the academic journey of the university’s aspiring graduates.
