Prof.R.L.S.Fernando, Head of the Department of Public Administration,was recently instated as the Secretary General of Network of Asia Pacific Schools and Institutes of Public Administration and Governance (NAPSIPAG). She has had a long term association with the network and has worked dedicatedly through out which has earned her this recognition.
NAPSIPAG is a cooperative body with a vision to improve the quality of governance and public administration in the Asia-Pacific region. They handle conferences, training programmes, workshops and research that will help this aim. The Department of Public Administration of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is a member of NAPSIPAG from 2014.
Prof.Fernando has previously won the Administrative Reforms Reward for her Outstanding Contribution to NAPSIPAG in 2013 at their 10th anniversary conference.
