Professor Priyake Palipana has assumed duties as the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
He obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, and later pursued his Master’s Degree at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo. During his overseas training, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS), Australia. In 2024, he was honored as one of the inaugural Fellows of the College of Dentistry and Stomatology, Sri Lanka.
He served in the Department of Health Services as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry for over two decades. He later joined the Faculty of Dental Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura as a founding member.
With more than 20 years of experience, he has served as a trainer and examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate dental programs. A well-respected figure in the field, Professor Priyake Palipana is a sought-after resource person at dental forums locally and internationally. His academic contributions include numerous publications in indexed and peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to his academic and clinical roles, he has served the Sri Lanka Navy as an Honorary Consultant since 2004.
