Prof. Charmalie Nahallage attached to the Department of Anthropology, of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, recently received a Merit Award for her Scientific Publications ( for the year 2016) by the National Research Council in Sri Lanka. This awards for Scientific Publications gives due recognition for scientific merit and is based on publications. These awards are given to Sri Lankan scientists with a local institutional affiliation.
Prof. Nahallage is being continuously engaged in research on Primates including the areas that she has specialized, such as Primate cultural behaviors, occurrence, acquisition, transmission, and development process of cultural behaviors in primates, Primate fossil studies etc. In addition, to this present achievement, she was won the President Award for her publications in 2008 by the National Research Council.
