Fourteen researchers from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura were awarded at the recently held President’s Awards for Scientific Publication. The event which took place at Water’s Edge, Battaramulla on 18th November 2015, was graced by His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka, and the Hon Susil Premajayantha, Minister for Science, Technology & Research.
The awards ceremony organized by the National Research Council, is the country’s most prestigious of its kind in the field of science. Through these awards the council hopes to promote and support scientists in Sri Lanka. Selection is done in a wider range of categories allowing the expected encouragement to be received by all local scientists.
