Lahiru Keshan Pathirana of USJ set new game records at the Inter University Championship Games 2022 in both “Men’s Shot Put” and “Men’s Discus Throw” events held at Sugathadasa Stadium.
Keshan Pathirana set a new record in men’s shot put with 13.27 meters distance record which broke the previous inter university games record of 13.23 meters and set a new record in Men’s Discus Throw with the distance of 42.90 meters.
Lahiru Keshan Pathirana is a second-year student of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University. Lahiru was also able to set a new record in the 47th Inter Provincial Games held on December 2022 representing Sabaragamuwa Province. Lahiru set a new record for Men’s Shot Put with the distance of 13.96 meters breaking previous record of 13.91meters in the same event. Lahiru was able to match the previous record of him-self in Men’s Discus Throw in the inter provincial games.
