Ms. T. L. Navaratne, a Lecturer (Probationary) of the Department of Business Economics wins two outstanding awards from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand. Ms. Navaratne completed an M.Sc. in Regional and Rural Development Planning at the Department of Development and Sustainability (DSD), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in May 2020. During the two-year Master’s programme she has secured a GPA of 4 out of 4 for the course-work and a grading of Excellent for her thesis, which was titled: “Farmers’ Perceptions of the Nexus Between Climate Change and Food Security: Evidence from the Northern and North Western Provinces of Sri Lanka”.
In recognition of her outstanding performance, she was awarded the James A. Linen III Memorial Prize in recognition of the most outstanding academic performance and also the Yoh Kurosawa prize in recognition of the most outstanding academic performance among female graduates in the field of Regional and Rural Development Planning.
