The Faculty of Technology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and CodeGen International (Pvt) Limited, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on joint advanced research projects. These projects will include the development of high-performance construction infrastructure and novel energy harvesting devices. The collaboration is conducted at the Center for Industrial Technology Development Research at the Faculty of Technology. The MOU was signed at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office on March 19, 2021, under the patronage of Senior Professor Sudantha Liyanage, Vice-Chancellor, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Dr. Harsha Subasinghe, CEO, CodeGen International (Pvt) Limited and the founder of Vega Innovations. Professor Renuka Nilmini (Dean, Faculty of Technology), Dr. Asanka Weerasekara (Head, Department of Civil and Environmental Technology), Dr. Vikum Premalal (Department of Civil and Environmental Technology), Dr. Rohan Dassanayake (Department of Biosystems Technology), and Ms. Dinusha Mohanasunderam (Legal officer, CodeGen International (Pvt) Limited) also graced the occasion.

The Center for Industrial Technology Development Research was recently established to support the technology-based research commissioned to the Faculty of Technology by industrial partners and clients, including research projects, consulting, quality control assessments, sample testing, certification, prototype development, and subsequently contributing to the national economic prosperity.
