Sri Lanka Economic Research Journal (SLJER) is the international journal of the Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists (SLFUE). SLFUE is a network of all Departments and Units of Economics within the Sri Lankan state university system which was initiated in 2012. SLJER creates a space where research, particularly policy related research, can be disseminated and so contributes to the economic thinking in the country.
Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura took up the Editorial Office of SLJER on behalf of SLFUE for the year 2016 with the responsibility to publish two issues of SLJER Volume 4. Dr. (Mrs.) Sumudu Perera, Head of the department holds the position of Chief Editor and Mr. Janaka Fernando, Senior Lecturer of the department is the Co-editor of the journal. Thereby, the first issue of SLJER was launched on 21st December 2016 at the Inauguration Ceremony of the 5th International Conference of SLFUE; Sri Lanka Economics Research Conference 2016, which was hosted by the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.
SLJER is a refereed tri-lingual journal and apart from the research articles the journal carries a special section titled ‘Perspectives’ which articulates alternative thinking and approaches to Economics. Book reviews are included as well. The current publication consists of five journal articles, two perspectives and one book review from renowned authors in the field of Economics.
