The Colors night of the University was held with much glamour, excitement and enjoyment on the 19^th May 2016 at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo awarding the exemplary sports men and women of Japura. The chief guest for the evening was Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, Vice Chancellor of the University.

This year’s event recognized 318 Color’s holders and 33 Best Players. It awarded 28 special awards with Sumedha Ranasinghe – athlete qualified to represent Sri Lanka at the Rio Olympics, being adjudged the Most Outstanding Sportsman and Vinuri Ranasinghe, a National Netball player, athlete and basketball player being awarded the Most Outstanding Sportswoman.

This night dedicated for the celebration of sweat and hard work also recognized Chameera Ginige, Sumedha Ranasinghe, Erandi Warushavithana, Kavindi Siriwardene, Naduni Gunawardene and Thushara Jayasekaera who are chosen to represent Sri Lanka at the South Asian Federation Games.

The Colors Night 2015 went on full swing with energy reverberating from all ends as these very special individuals who dared to dream and went that extra mile in making it a reality reaped for what they sowed.  It was a night that stamped the notion that hard work will never go unnoticed. Someone, somewhere will see it and you will then be rewarded.
