A significant milestone was recently achieved as the Department of Information Technology within the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura formalized its alliance with Virtusa Corporation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This significant event marked a juncture where academia and industry converge to nurture mutual growth and advancement.
The signing ceremony was recently held at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with Senior Prof. M.M Pathmalal, the Vice Chancellor USJ, and Mr. Sampath Thirimawitharana, Director-HR Virtusa, acting as the signatories. Distinguished figures who bore witness to this collaborative endeavor included Mr. Aniston Leo, an Associate Consultant in Talent Acquisition (Campus Hiring). The endorsement of the MoU by witnesses from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, including Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, and Prof. Lasith Gunawardena, the Head of the Department of IT, along with Prof. Champa Hewagamage and Dr. Amitha Kumara as representatives of the Department of IT, added further credibility to this partnership
