Dr. Chaminda Konthesingha assumed duties as the new Dean of the Faculty of Engineering on 15th July 2019 at the board room of the Faculty of Engineering. Honorable Mahasanga, Prof. Sampath Amaratunge; Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda; Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Heads of Departments, academic and administrative staff members participated in the induction ceremony.
Dr. Chaminda was the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering. He has obtained his Ph.D. from The University of Newcastle, Australia and his MSc and BSc (Eng Hons) degrees from the University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka
