Prof. Terence Purasinghe former head of the department of Political Science of faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of University of Sri Jayewardenepura has passed away at the age of 60. Prof. Terence Purasinghe passed away while being treated at a private hospital for an emergency.
Prof. Terence Purasinghe holds an undergraduate (BA Hons) and postgraduate degree (MA) from University of Peradeniya and is a scholar of politics. He has been a pioneer of the leftist struggle against racism. He is known for a number of books on the subject and is best known as a lecturer and a journalist.
The final rites of Prof. Terence Purasinghe will be performed on 08th of July 2021 (Thursday) at Godigamuwa Public Cemetery, Maharagama. His remains will be laid at the Rohini Funeral Parlor, Maharagama on 07th of July 2021 after 5.00 pm.
