AIESEC in University of Sri Jayewardenepura acquired a tremendous feat proving its excellence once again by taking home a total of Six Awards and by being nominated for another six out of the total of 16 Awards that were presented at the Gala Awards Night of Natcon’22 organized by AIESEC in Sri Lanka. Most notably, AIESEC in USJ was crowned the Most Outstanding Local Committee Award in the presence of the Local Committees from around the country bringing a heartfelt moment of pride and glory for both AIESEC in USJ and its dedicated membership.
AIESEC is the world’s largest youth run organization currently operating with an active membership of over a million across more than 114 countries. Natcon’22 is the National Conference of AIESEC Sri Lanka that brings the members of the Local Committees of the country together as a form of bonding and providing a quality leadership training in the course of three days. This time, Natcon’22 was held after a halt period of two years in the backdrop of Corona and the other crises emerging within Sri Lanka which in fact, were reasons that delegates looked forward to having an experience to cherish for a lifetime.
During the Gala Awards Night, AIESEC in University of Sri Jayewardenepura was also acclaimed with Living Diversity in oGTa Award, Living Diversity in iGTa Award, Striving for Excellence Marketing Award, Demonstrating integrity Finance Award and EwA & Innovation Award while being proudly nominated with Living Diversity in oGV Award, Living Diversity in oGTe Award, Living Diversity in iGV Award, Acting Sustainably BD Award, Enjoying Participation TM Award and Onell Waneesha for the Best Young Leader Award simultaneously.
The above long list of Awards and nominations depicts none other than the result of the impactful leadership bound initiatives the Local Committee initiated and successfully conducted amidst various circumstances that tackled its way during its operations. Furthermore, it demonstrates the diligence, perseverance and consistent efforts of the USJ membership who are indeed the backbone holding and driving the Local Committee towards excellence in unity under its fearless and inventive leadership. The entire plenary of the attendees became witnesses to this hard earned moment on that night.
Addressing this joyous occasion, The President of the term 21.22 of AIESEC in USJ, Vikum Wijekoon expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the beloved membership for being a vital part on this magnificent achievement and expanded his acknowledgement towards the astounding Executive Board of the term 21.22 for being the pillar of success behind this victory and their remarkable leadership for setting the standards of USJ on the top. Being motivated by this appreciation, AIESEC in University of Sri Jayewardenepura is ready to roar louder and fly higher jumping leaps and bounds expanding its horizons with an unmatched enthusiasm to uplift the young leaders of tomorrow aiming towards accelerated progress in hope of a sustainable world.
Also, the President of AIESEC in USJ for the term 22.23, Dishan Devakumara and his Executive Board is confident that the membership of the prestigious entity will drive forward amidst all challenges that would come in their way while being innovative and solution driven to continue the legacy forward.
AIESEC extended thanks to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Professor Sudantha Liyanage and the staff advisor of AIESEC in USJ, Professor Prasad Jayaweera who have been supporting and guiding the young AIESECers to unveil their true potential and for their support & guidance was instrumental in bringing glory to AIESEC in USJ and the University.
