The Department Geography of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized an academic exchange programme, with regard to the MoU previously signed between the university and the Parwathibai Chowgule College of Art & Science,India. A delegation of students and officials from the the Parwathibai Chowgule College participated at the event.
The Indian delegation were welcomed by the Vice Chancellor Prof.Sampath Amaratunge, commenting that exchange programmes of this nature will not only boost the relationship between the academic domains of India and Sri Lanka, but also expose students to a wider world where knowledge keeps improving faster. The Registrar – Mr.G.Britto, Dean, faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences – Mr.Lasantha Nawarathna, Head, Dept. of Geography – Prof.Sunethra Tennakoon and other staff member of the department were also present.
Prof.Anaga Dicholkar lead the Indian students who took part in a conference where 10 research papers were presented.
