A proposal to establish Chinese Language and International Cultural Center at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was discussed by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Hunan University, China, when academics and officials from the two univeristies met on 18 May 2015 at the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sampath Amaratunge’s office at the University.
The meeting was cordinated by Prof. Hao Weimin, a scholar from China working in Sri Lanka and the Head of the Languages, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Pradeep Ratnayake.
From Hunan University were Prof. Yu Dejie, Assistant President, Hunan University, Prof. Xie Jun, Senior Director, Center of International Studies, Prof. Luo Jiawei, Vice Dean, College of Information Science and Engineering and Dr. Zhou Kai, Director, Admission and Visa Office from the same university.
