The Japura Web team and media team emerged as the exclusive winners of the Professional Producer/Electronic media, Science Popularization award at the 72nd Annual Session of the Sri Lanka Association for Advancement of Science. The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Sampath Amaratunge and Prof. Hiran Amarasekera, head of the Web and Media teams received this award on behalf of the entire team from H.E President Maithreepala Sirisena himself at the occasion held this evening (5th December 2016) at the BMICH.
This lifetime professional award was granted by the selection committee of SLAAS for the exceptional performance of the Japura Web and Media teams in the production of e-learning material, research talks together with the digital depository of publications, journals and abstracts, model paper discussions, lessons and exams tips as well as video productions on youth empowerment (Sarasavi Tharunya) etc.
A big Thank you to Prof. Amaratunge for your persistent support, guidance and encouragement in paving the way towards achieving this first step which we believe would be the first of many. Prof. Hiran, Thank you very much for your constant guidance in leading this team towards the award.
