Seventeen delegates from  Higher Secondary School Association of Nepal (HISSAN) visited the university on 26th of October 2016 to discuss possible avenue for collaborations between Nepal and Sri Lanka. The discussion was held at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, USJP. Deans / representatives of each faculty presented their courses, possibility to exchange students and academics during the discussion

The HISSAN is a reputed academic institute in Nepal as well as an umbrella organization of private higher secondary schools/ colleges in Nepal. The institute organizers various academic programmes including familiarization programmes with other countries. The Sri Lankan Embassy is of the view that the proposed visit may encourage Nepali students to select Sri Lanka as an educational destination.
