Prof. Ranil de Silva , Director World Class University Project, USJP was invited as a guest speaker to present his speech on “SAARC Bio-bank network: A Sri Lankan experience in neuroscience and nutraceutical research” and as co-chairperson (Cancer and Neurobiology) at a conference in the South Asian University (SAU), India on 15th March 2019.
SAU is an international university established jointly by the eight member states of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) viz. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SAU started its operations from the academic year 2010. The university offers post-graduate and doctoral programs in various disciplines that include Economics, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Sociology, International Relations, and Law. SAU attracts students from all member nations and all the eight SAARC countries recognize its degrees.
After a fruitful discussion, an MoU between SAU and USJP for the advancement of future research collaborations, Postgraduate Fellowships, and student/staff exchange programs is to be signed in the near future.
