The Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is the largest science faculty in Sri Lanka in terms of the number of
students and staff. The Faculty of Applied Sciences under its nine academic departments conduct 21 B.Sc. degree level courses and 5 B.Sc. undergraduate degrees in English medium. Interestingly, in addition to the conventional pure science subjects such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, zoology, botany etc., the Faculty of Applied Sciences at University of Sri Jayewardenepura offers a series of applied science subjects such as polymer science and technology, applied physics, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, information communication technology and forestry and environmental science. Moreover, the Faculty of Applied Sciences offers undergraduate level management subjects, economics and management science.
