The Department of Economics of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted a stakeholder consultation workshop in 2018 to discuss and validate main strategies to update its existing curriculum as part of the major curriculum review of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS). One of the main suggestions of the stakeholder workshop was to introduce Financial Economics as a new field of specialization in economics in line with current trends in the global economy. We are now in the process of designing a new degree program in response to the main outcome of the stakeholder consultation workshop.
As an initial phase, the Department conducted a second consultation workshop with subject experts on program design and development with regards to our proposed degree program: B.Sc. in Financial Economics on 22nd May 2019 at the Board Room of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences from 9. 00 a.m to 12.00 p.m. The main objectives of this workshop were to identify and prioritize key subject areas to be included in the curriculum of the new degree program and to identify potential constraining and enabling factors in the proposed degree program.
