A Ceremony to mark the opening of the office premises of the Centre for Gender Equity and Equality (CGEE) was held on 05th August 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Auditorium of the Administration Building, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The occasion was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Senior Prof Sampath Amaratunge, Dr. (Mrs) Hemamalie Gunatilake; Prof. Sudantha Liyanage; Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda; Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Prof. Laleen Karunanayake’ Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences. In addition heads of departments, academic and non-academic staff members and students participated in the event.
A Guest speech on “Why gender matters?” was delivered by Senior Prof. Kumudu Wijewardene, Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
