Mr Pasan Malinda Wijayawardhana, a third-year undergraduate of the Department of Business Economics of the Faculty of Managment Studies and Commerce won the Best Speaker and Best Announcer (Runners-Up) awards at the 40th National Youth Awards Competition 2018 which can be cited as the largest national level youth contest in Sri Lanka. This was organized by the National Youth Services Council in three rounds at zonal, provincial and national levels.  The Awards Festival was held on 28th November 2018 at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Colombo.
