The Fifth Annual Inter-Medical Faculty Physiology Quiz was organized by the Physiological Society of Sri Lanka (PSSL) and was held at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura on 16th June 2018. About 250 medical students from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Colombo, University of Kelaniya, University of Jaffna, University of Peradeniya, University of Ruhuna, University of Rajarata and Sir John Kothalawalla Defense University took part in this Physiology quiz. The welcome address was given by Prof. Priyadarshika Hettiarachchi, the President of the PSSL. She expressed her views regarding the importance of having a Physiology quiz. The chief guest Prof. Surangi Yasawardene, Dean of Faculty of Medical Sciences, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, expressed her pleasure in hosting this activity at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura as this programme promotes both undergraduate learning as well as social harmony among students and staff from all parts of the country. This was an exciting event in which the Faculty of the Medical Sciences University of Sri Jayewardenepura became the winners and was awarded the Prof. Carlo Fonseka Challenge Trophy this year. Faculty of Medicine Kelaniya and Faculty of Medicine Colombo were the runner-ups.
